Abstract
SIMET is a web-based platform developed to strengthen risk management and emergency response among industrial companies linked to APELL Barranquilla. Focused on technological emergencies involving hazardous chemicals, it includes features like risk analysis, resource management, decision support, and reporting. However, delays and incomplete data submissions hinder performance and user satisfaction. This paper proposes a service design improvement to enhance SIMET's functionality by improving communication strategies, implementing targeted training, and adding real-time tracking tools. It also suggests integrating artificial intelligence to support data submission, ensuring SIMET remains effective for both emergency preparedness and routine risk management. These improvements aim to increase adoption and foster a proactive safety culture in Barranquilla's industrial sector.
