Abstract
In today's world, mental health is a priority, even more so in university residences, spaces of great wealth due to the complexity that arises when hosting mobile students who come from diverse cultures, ways of life, types of thinking, beliefs and rituals. This text shares experiences of exploration of the reality of the Don Bosco university residence from the individual, group, family and organizational dimensions, considering mental health as the guiding thread of this process. Through participatory action research, the authors highlight unique challenges of this reality that key actors in the residence go through in their daily lives, offering reflections on psychological well-being as a transcendental factor for students to successfully complete their academic training. This work reveals a world of possibilities for the construction of a multicultural education model, with a systemic vision, since the reality of the residence not only responds to the students who live there but also to the expectations of their families and communities. In the residence, multiple dreams, desires, realities, as well as problems and challenges converge, which require it to manage changes and respond to the contingencies of the current context.
