Abstract
This chapter analyzes the external factors that influence the teaching-learning process, highlighting the decisive role of family, school, peers, and the community in the integral development of students. Based on bibliographic research and the analytical-synthetic method, it is evident how the social context influences motivation, self-esteem, and academic performance. The importance of the teacher as a mediator and of the Salesian approach based on Don Bosco's Preventive System, which promotes affective and effective educational environments, are highlighted.
