Abstract
This article, through analysis, simulation and comparison of the phase change process inside the evaporator of a domestic refrigerator, seeks to determine the thermodynamic and heat transfer behavior of the R600a and R410A refrigerants; for which computational fluid dynamics is used using ANSYS Fluent. Better performance in phase change in heat absorption is obtained for R600a, being at least 5% higher than R410A in the tests carried out. Through heat transfer analysis, the temperature in the freezer reaches around-13ºC with the cycle that uses R600a and-8.6ºC with R410A, which shows that both are suitable to work correctly in a domestic refrigerator.
