Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the teaching-learning strategies used by teachers to achieve significant learning in online education during the pandemic period. The importance of the use of strategies that allowed organizing knowledge and providing students with meaningful learning is highlighted. The research used a mixed approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data. Observation sheets and surveys for teachers and students were used to collect information. It was found that teachers in this educational institution used different strategies, and that each one fulfilled its role in the teaching and learning process. In addition, teachers were constantly investigating, deepening, planning and giving feedback in order to reflect on whether the planned and developed pedagogical work was giving the expected results. On the other hand, the students considered that there was coherence between what was planned, the implementation and the expected results. It is concluded that in the institution the pedagogical work based on the varied use of teaching-learning strategies allowed significant learning, and that these were essential and necessary during the pedagogical process, especially in the virtual modality.
