Abstract
This research addresses the work carried out with the Movement of Amateur Artists (MAA), from the Cuban university extension and how it contributed to the improvement of the training of future professionals. From this perspective, the main theoretical assumptions of the same were analyzed, with emphasis on its potentialities, to stimulate and promote university sociocultural development. Thus, taking into account the limitations presented in the work of this movement, an extensionist strategy aimed at enhancing its improvement is proposed, so that it contributes to the sociocultural development of the university community.
