Abstract

In Ecuador there are 378 meteorological stations [1] of which only 10% measure global radiation according to data from Inamhi (National Institute of Metrology and Hydrology), additionally there is a solar radiation map made in 2008 by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory of the United States in conjunction with the Corporation for Energy Research (CIE), but it does not offer data tables by provinces or meteorological stations, nor has it been validated by another study. For our estimation we have considered parameters such as latitude of the city of Guayaquil, solar declination, hour angle and sun hour records from the Guayaquil weather station, U. Estatal (RADIO SONDA) Code: M1096 Period 1922 - 2014, Latitude: 2G 10' 50" S, Longitude: 79G 53' 59" W Elevation: 6 m.
