Abstract
This article analyzes a topic that has received little attention in early childhood education: the teaching activities carried out by teachers, the use of school materials, and the reinforcement of gender stereotypes. The approach to early childhood education is primarily based on learning, holistic development, and play. It is difficult to find studies and research that address the issue of gender and stereotypes, and the ways in which these are reinforced and produced at this educational level. This research shows how, in the course of classes, certain stereotypes about what is expected of men and women determine the types of activities and materials that can or cannot be used by each child.
