Abstract

Voltage stability is a fundamental topic in the study and analysis of power systems, consequently, the remarked problem is dealt using the Continuation Power Flow method (CPF). CPF is based on the reformulation of specified active power, then different load models are included on CPF equations. The aim of this project is to make a comparison of the voltage collapse points obtained applying load models on equations and also neglecting the load model. Simulations are carried out using a code elaborated and executed in Matlab, which uses the data from the IEEE 9- buses system. The proposed code obtains the PV curve of the analyzed bus, as a result, the collapse point is obtained without including a load model and the collapse point with a load model. A comparison could be made between a voltage stability analysis using the conventional CPF method and another in which load models are included.
