Abstract

Research must have its greatest development in the university. Although the participation rates of university students in the research production of universities are still very low, this has been improving in recent years. This article presents the strategies that in terms of formative research of university students are applied at the Salesian Polytechnic University of Guayaquil. Through a descriptive, cross-sectional, quantitative study, the level of acceptance of the training process is evaluated in 2 groups: professionals who graduated through the option of academic articles and students who were part of the seedbed of the research group that develops this training process. A total of 70 people responded through 2 online questionnaires to categories of questions concerning the study, in addition 5 professionals from the first group were interviewed and the publications made were consulted. The results obtained show an acceptable level of satisfaction of the extracurricular training process to which the students adhere voluntarily with the aim of learning to investigate within the approach of living and experiencing day to day as part of a research group.
