Abstract
In the late 19th century, specifically on May 4, 1889, in a rural Venezuelan town; El Tocuyo, Lara State, José Pío Tamayo was born, who would later become one of the pioneers of scientific socialism in Venezuela. Since he was a child, he manifested his inclination towards literature, poetry, philosophy, journalism, theater and in a certain way, politics, as evidenced in his frequent visits to the libraries of the town, when he was only 11 years old, and with his participation in the Liceo La Salle, of Barquisimeto, in whose Institute he concluded his high school studies.
