Abstract

The research turned around to graffiti as a social critic, considering this activity as urban art, allowing graffiti artists to transmit ideas, thoughts, social problems, through various styles. For this reason the objective of the research is to analyze the messages of social criticism present in graffiti, by categorizing the themes, identifying the grammatical codes and explaining the communicative process of the group "Amos del Sur". To meet the proposed objectives, a qualitative methodology is used, with an exploratory scope due to scarce deepening found on the subject, the sample is intentional, selecting the group "Amos del Sur", the data collection instruments will be observation, semi-structured interviews. In addition, a speech about graffiti was used. Graffiti has become a way to communicate different situations in which the subject is immersed and have crossed the communication barriers imposed by the systems, which has generated the search for places where they can express and express their art, in the case of graffiti artists, the street, turning these places into the favorite canvas of a number of groups or independent people dedicated to make these artistic manifestation.
