Abstract
Life is marked by countless experiences that, at different stages, provide people with the resources to build their personal history. Events, according to their importance and value, shape a person in one way or another. The positive will always be a source of drive and inspiration, and the "negative" will give a person strength and wisdom to continue their journey with experience and renewed energy. However, these experiences are not always shared, and people accumulate them throughout their lives as a permanent burden. Often, unresolved negative events become obstacles to continuing life normally, and then the need arises to open one's heart to the right person to find new light and hope. This is precisely what the Listening Center of the Salesian University Pastoral Ministry is: a space for encounter, trust, empathy, and support so that people who feel this need to communicate, to talk about their existential situations, can be heard and accompanied. This document recounts the beautiful experience of the Listening Center, which has helped many members of the university community simply by being open and empathetic with those who needed it.
