Abstract

The proposed research topic focuses on assessing the use of the virtual classroom as a teaching tool at the higher basic level of basic general education. The research is carried out at the "3 de Diciembre" Educational Unit. In this context, communication between student and teacher is limited to the classroom, resulting in traditional teaching. The main objective of the research is to analyze the characteristics of the virtual classroom for its implementation in teacher teaching, using bibliographic sources and research instruments. The methodology used is of a mixed type because it shows qualitative and quantitative results, with a theoretical and empirical approach. To collect data, the survey was used as a research technique and the questionnaire as a data collection instrument, applied to the 25 teachers of the institution. These activities were complemented by the execution of training workshops for them. After tabulating and analyzing the data, the main results conclude that most teachers would agree to implement a virtual classroom in their teaching work, since they consider that it would help complement teaching, optimize time and allow students to use technology as a complement to their academic training.
