Abstract
The digital economy fosters modalities such as teleworking, which provide benefits like work–life balance and flexibility; however, it also raises challenges related to productivity and stress, factors that may affect perceptions of well-being. In this context, job happiness emerges as a relevant element of study in digitalized environments. The objective of this research was to evaluate the association between productivity, work–life balance, and job stress with job happiness during teleworking. A quantitative approach was employed through an online survey administered to 592 individuals with teleworking experience, using Likert-type scales validated with high reliability coefficients (α > 0.89). Since the data did not meet normality assumptions, non-parametric analyses and ordinal regression were applied. The results revealed significant associations between job happiness and perceptions of productivity and work–life balance, while the relationship with stress was negative but weak. It is concluded that teleworking, when properly managed, enhances the perception of job happiness, making it an important element for organizational management within the framework of the Ecuadorian digital economy.
