Abstract
The work is part of the regional research conducted by the ESTRADO Network in a group of Latin American countries with the purpose of knowing the effect of the pandemic on the working conditions of teachers. The results obtained, in the case of Ecuador, show the impact of a set of aspects, among them, the government's responses to the economic crisis aggravated by the pandemic; the measures adopted by the educational system to sustain educational continuity and the professional and economic situation of teachers at the time of social confinement, with the suspension of face-to-face activities and the transition to the distance mode. This study involved 670 teachers from public educational institutions (public system) of all educational levels, who responded voluntarily and anonymously to the survey available on the Internet.
