Abstract
An industrial warehouse constitutes a structure meticulously engineered to accommodate industrial and productive operations. Within its premises, it integrates machinery and equipment and, critically, the workforce that operates these resources. Consequently, the structural design demands precision and must be tailored to address operational requirements while ensuring stability and safety. This study elaborates on the design of an industrial warehouse that is characterized by the absence of lateral enclosures and is equipped with a 25-ton capacity overhead crane. The design adheres strictly to contemporary standards (NEC, 2015; AISC 360-16, 2016) and leverages the STAAD. Pro CONNECT software. Through this process, the cross-sectional dimensions of the structural components were meticulously determined. The findings corroborate that the seismic-resistant design complies with all stipulated regulations, as the structural elements effectively withstand the ultimate load combinations, while deflections remain healthy within acceptable limits. Additionally, the structural period, cumulative mass participation percentage, base shear, drifts, and conformity with the strong column-weak beam criterion align with Ecuador’s legally binding national standards.
