Abstract
This project aims to reaffirm the commitment acquired through the incursion into the study of renewable and environmentally friendly energies such as fuel cells in combination with hydrogen technology, together provide clean energy with high yields, zero Emissions of carbon dioxide and as waste pure water. The project describes the construction of a prototype of a power plant using as a generator, a hydrogen-oxygen-fueled proton exchange membrane fuel cell. For the continuous supply of hydrogen, an electrolyzer was used to effect the electrochemical decomposition of the water, using a 2.2 molar solution of potassium hydroxide. The analysis variables considered were: the hydrogen flow as input variable to the cell and the output variables: current, voltage and power. The results were compared with the results of the equipment manufacturer resulting in a generation efficiency of 94%.
