Abstract
Contemporary universities show interest in using social networks as support tools to improve the professional training process, teachers use these networks to create knowledge that they share with their students, which denotes the important role of these tools in the teaching process -learning. The scientific article analyzes the students' perceptions regarding the didactic potentialities of social networks in their training as one of the tasks associated with the research project Personalized pedagogical training plan, E-learning and / or Blended learning, to professionals from the technical areas of the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences of the University of Guayaquil. Students consider very high the potential of social networks to specifically contribute to the training and development of skills in the future telecommunications and networking engineer, specifically in the dimensions associated with the use of developer teaching-learning methods, as well as the selection and appropriate use of means of the teaching-learning process.
