Abstract

The purpose of this research is to deepen the metal sheet cutting field, seeking to validate and determine the optimum cutting clearance, which the punch and die must have for a sheet metal cutting process. This validation of the study was carried out with the help of a punching die, mechanical presses of five tons of force and a subsequent analysis by simulation in the ANSYS Software with the work module in Explicit Dynamics. As part of the study, factors that intervene in the calculations of the design of the matrix are detailed, which the shear stresses, materials used and the punch-die are cut clearance. Once the theoretical ideal value for the cut was determined, the validation was carried out with the ANSYS simulation computer tool, to finally corroborate it through an experimental process. The models compared were obtained through variations in cutting forces, speeds, materials, clearances and various work parameters offered by the Software.
