Abstract

This study presents the design and development of a pilot wireless data network to improve connectivity at the Unidad Educativa Alfonso Lituma Correa in Gualaceo, Ecuador. The lack of adequate network infrastructure affects the quality of education by limiting students' access to online resources. The methodology includes a diagnosis of the current infrastructure, selection of network technologies, and the design and simulation of the network using tools such as Ekahau and Cisco Packet Tracer. Results show that the strategic relocation of devices improves coverage and signal strength. This pilot design is replicable in other educational institutions in the region, promoting digital inclusion and reducing the digital divide in rural communities.
