Abstract

This project presents the design of a chamber for drying tiles or bricks and pine wood, taking advantage of the energy of the combustion gases that result from the cooking process of said products in artisan ovens, which generate large quantities of heat and in turn large amounts of greenhouse gases as a product of incomplete combustion due to excessive moisture in the biomass used for combustion (pine wood). The designed chamber fulfills the function of drying tiles and bricks, reducing the percentage of humidity and complying with the characteristics required for the development of the firing process in the artisan oven. In addition, the chamber has conditions to dry the pine wood, required to have a complete combustion process and thus generate enough energy to achieve temperatures in the firing chamber that range between 850 °C and 1000 °C.
