Abstract

When Wireless Network Control Systems are discussed, the theoretical problems of control and communication combine and merge into an ecosystem in which sensors, actuators and controllers interact through a wireless communication network. This architecture presents some advantages, flexibility and reduction of cabling are the most important, however the data are transmitted in non-ideal media and shows some limitations when sharing bandwidth with other devices connected to the network, as a result there are transmission delays (latencies). Due to the scarcity of practical applications in this area, this work has developed a didactic system of continuous voltage control, the controller is located on a WEB server hosted on a Raspberry Pi 3 board, with HTML programming, PHP and JAVASCRIPT, having a harmonious interaction for the management of data flow between client and server. In the plant, the sensor and actuator are connected to an Arduino UNO board and a Dragino module that allows wireless communication, closing the control loop through the network or cloud. To ensure plant stability, an event-based PID controller implementation will be implemented, demonstrating the usefulness and limits of the WNCS in this type of plant.
