Abstract
The objective of this research was to develop competencies that integrate the scientific, technical and axiological knowledge of civil engineers in training with the help of integrative projects. Its approach is based on the guidelines of participatory action research responding to a qualitative paradigm. The data collection instrument was an assignment oriented to design a project based on linear algebra starting from a contextual problem. The results showed that the students were able to satisfactorily develop the competencies of communication, research, innovation, management of basic sciences and environmental awareness. It was concluded that integrative projects are a pedagogical strategy that facilitates the development of competencies in future engineers.
