Abstract

This document presents the study and analysis of the main causes of the consumption of electrical energy measured by electrical devices (meters), which occur due to non-technical electrical energy losses within Ecuador. The information that will be provided will be through a compilation of information taken from documents and from the company “Electrical Quito” that is available on the web. Before letting know how electric meters work within the Ecuadorian sector, and the processes that must be carried out in case of problems and defrauds that arise in the case. The aim of the work is to present a study on the theft of energy in electric meters, inappropriate connections, bad measurements in the meters and poor billing for different social aspects and situations of need that may have those involved (final consumers, internal workers of the electric company).
