Abstract

What to do with the waste oil caused by oil changes in the sectors: industrial, automotive, aviation and marine; It is a problem that causes an unknown worldwide. It is estimated that 45 million tons per year are generated in the world, with only 40% of this oil being collected and disposed of properly and about 8% of this is recycled into new lubricating oils. Similarly, it is estimated that used filters contain 30-50% steel by weight and 45-60% used oil, which also makes it a dangerous solid waste, which should be used for recycling different ways Part by part. This generates a deontological problem because the professionals who develop this activity ignore the articles 179, 180, 181 of the Ministerial Agreement of Ecuador, which establish that said wastes must be treated as dangerous.
