Abstract

Where should we mission today? “Wherever life cries out and flesh is touched.” Wherever the Gospel gives life and needs to be reborn. The mission fields are the margins: the world of youth, indigenous peoples, the new vulnerabilities generated by globalization, the digital world, ecology, addictions, affective-sexual issues, emotional health, social justice. We want to move from “everyone, everyone, everyone” to “go out, go out, go out.” We don't want to wait around, but rather encourage ourselves to cross borders, with the attitude of a guest, with joy and respect, being present among those whose lives are threatened. And there, we want to heal, reconcile, and accompany. Mission is hopeful resistance; it is building bridges in times when walls are being erected.
