Abstract
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a topic that is widely disseminated in academia. The attraction it has generated is that its action would imply that companies can have a positive impact on society through ethical practices, citizen participation, human rights and the environment. a reflection on the approach to CSR by eclac consultant Bernardo Kliksberg, considered a Latin American reference on the subject, is presented. His main argument is that CSR is considered a tool for the development of countries and, therefore, its implementation would have repercussions in the fight to reduce poverty. Under this premise, we will analyze the real contribution of CSR in Latin America, outlining whether CSR plays a real role in solving problems or whether companies use CSR as a strategy for corporate image and profitability.
