Abstract

The Latin American Political Philosophy is a current of the Philosophy of the Liberation that looks forthe national sovereignty and the emancipation in all social field especially in the educational field. Fromtheir philosophical assumptions it has been sought that the educational subject reaches autonomy overhis teaching - learning process, through the analysis of himself, the reflection, the use of the question andthe argumentation about what he believes or defends. In this way, the Latin American PoliticalPhilosophy has contributed in the elaboration of educational policies in an indirect way, since the presence of philosophers in ministries or educational institutions is still scarce. The educational process in Ecuador since 2000 to the present day has gone through different crises due to the different ideological guidelines of the system through which it is traversed, trying to privatize higher education; hence, the reform of the LOES of the 1990s has not received adequate attention causing a decontextualization between education and the reality of the country. However, since 2007, the situation seems to change in relation to the subject of evaluation and accreditation of universities for the improvement of the quality of the same; However, this process has caused several inconsistencies due to the levels of corruption toachieve the accreditation of the institutions. For this reason, several representatives of Latin American Political Philosophy have proposed starting from the contextualization of the country by proposing the presence of philosophers of education who are capable of encouraging critical thinking.
