Abstract

Nowadays, the promotion of sustainable mobility is one of the most important challenge faced by the Ecuadorian society. The defiance emerged with the creation of the Presidential Commitment No. 21898 of April 11th, 2014, which declared the support to the production of electric vehicles as a preventive measure to reduce the polluting emissions produced by the consumption of fossil fuels that affect the health and increase the greenhouse effect in the planet. For this reason, the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana developed an engagement Project with society that consisted in the diffusion at a national level, of this new technology in High Schools of the city of Guayaquil. This article presents the biannual planning of a series of talks in high schools during the academic period No. 53 and the problems that arise while making students aware about the use of electric and hybrid vehicles technology which favor the United Nations′ goal No. 7 about Affordable and Clean Energy. Finally, through a survey conducted in the Javier High School of Guayaquil, the assessment of the Project is shown which responds to the new technological environment of the XXI century.
