Abstract
This research, entitled Contribution of the Family to the Development of Basic Thinking Skills, emphasizes the importance of the family as an active educational agent capable of generating enriched environments that favor the intellectual and emotional growth of its members. It also highlights the decisive role of the family in education and in strengthening the cognitive abilities of children and young people. This document highlights that recovering certain dynamics and activities at home, such as board games, shared reading, and reflective discussions, fosters essential skills for critical thinking. It also presents proposals to strengthen the role of the family in the educational process, revaluing traditional and contemporary family practices. The research uses a mixed. methodological approach, harmonizing the historical review of pedagogical currents and the role of the family in them; a description and the respective analysis of data obtained from surveys conducted with fathers and mothers is carried out. The results underline that the active participation of the family in daily educational activities not only improves family connection and well-being but also effectively stimulates the critical and creative thinking of children and adolescents.
