Abstract
The IUS Education Group (IUS EG) is an academic network belonging to the IUS Network. Currently 22 IUS distributed in America, Europe and Asia are part of this Network. Its mission is to energize systematically and continuously the collaboration between the IUS thataddress the issue of education both from the point of view of research as well as teaching, social projection or the educational praxis. The objectives of the IUS EG are: Generate intervention models –with a theoretical and practical component– in the field of education, focused on those aspects and with those perspectives that are more in line with the charismand the Salesian mission. Participate actively and purposefully in the circuits of research, reflection and action of the international scientific community in the field of education and related sciences. Getting to have a qualified own voice in said community inthose thematic fields that are considered more linked to the charisma and the Salesian pedagogical experience. (IUS EG, 2018) The network works permanently from its creation tofrom the declaration of the year 2007. Triennially, the IUS EG summons a Seminar and a General Assembly with the participation of the delegates of the rectors to this network. the last seminar it was held at UNISAL in Sao Paulo, in 2018, and the next one will take place in Quito at UPS in April of this year. Aligned with its objectives, in 2019 the IUS EG convenedauthors and researchers members of the IUS EG to participate in a joint editorial project in which 25 academics participate in 27 articles gathered in the first book of the IUS EG titled "Challenges of Salesian education: experiences and reflections from the IUS” (cf. https://n9.cl/s5d6q). Contemporary educational challenges: Salesian education for innovation and participation in crisis contexts 173 A second collective academic project is the investigation: “Contemporary educational challenges: Salesian education for theinnovation and participation in contexts of crisis”, with the aim of to know the contemporary educational-pedagogical-pastoral challenges of the IUS, within the context of a social and educational crisis, caused by the pandemic due to the spread of COVID-19.The investigation was convened in May 2021, had an important participation of IUS from America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
