Abstract

The construction of meanings in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Case study: "Colectivo Retomando Raíces". The work focuses on the cultural richness of the Ecuadorian Amazon and its indigenous nationalities. Under the ancestral precept of the cosmovision as the central axis of each community, the line of indigenous organization decides to promote the creation of youth collectives that keep alive the cultural identity of the Amazonian peoples, thus the "Retomando Raíces Collective" is born, for whom one of the most important cultural and identity manifestations is in the revitalization and preservation of the ancestral ritual "Guayusa Upina". It is determined that the social interaction, generated in this ancestral ritual, allows to unify and consolidate the millenary practices, besides establishing new forms of identity recognition and cultural valorization, established from the collective exchange in each manifestation.
