Abstract
Preserving heritage, strengthening cultural rights in a country that carries the label of interculturality, and spreading the worldview of peoples and nationalities were the objectives with which the radio project Ñuca Ecuador was created. The program, produced in 2013 by the Communication School of the Salesian Polytechnic University and the Ecuadorian Association of Broadcasting, AER, ten years later transforms into a series of graphic books that pay homage to the diversity of the country, to its cultural richness, and to those who have supported the struggle of the peoples. In this context, this work highlights the contribution of the Comboni Mission and its work at the Afro Cultural Center in Guayaquil and Esmeraldas, as well as its contribution to the strengthening of cultural identity, historical value, and the defense of the rights of Afro-descendant communities in Ecuador.
