Abstract

The characterization of waste is an issue of vital importance for the management of the same that‘s the reason why the present work has been realized, since knowing its composition can be managed correctly its handling and disposition. The production per capita of waste was0.21 kg/(hab. day). Its composition is a majority of organic matter, followed by plastic which has increased significantly due to the health crisis caused by the SARS-Cov2 coronavirus, as well as waste from hospital products such as facemasks and gloves. The production per capita of waste is compounded by factors such as lack of waste separation at source and shortage of composting systems.
