Change and Knowledge Management in Covid-19 Scenarios: Learning and Business Innovation to Face the Challenges of Emerging Work Modalities

Abstract

Present study aims to analyze change and knowledge management in COVID-19 scenarios using learning and innovation as business tools to address the challenges of emerging work modalities. A qualitative approach was employed, using document analysis for systematic review of articles published in Scielo, Elsevier, Dialnet, and Scopus that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the search strategy, along with an observation guide for presentation. The findings of this study demonstrate the importance of knowledge in organizational transformation processes as part of change management, which goes hand in hand with learning and innovation as fundamental tools in this process. According to the reviewed articles, four primary variables were addressed, including change management (25%), knowledge management (25%), emerging work modalities (20%), and business learning and innovation (30%). It is essential to incorporate knowledge management as part of the strategies that allow overcoming resistance to change, difficulties in implementing new processes, and adaptation to new work modalities such as telecommuting. Thus, approaching knowledge (both internal and external) is the most efficient way to face these challenges. Learning and innovation represent optimal tools to acquire this knowledge, as both have a positive influence on a company’s competitiveness.
