Abstract
The chapter Challenges of teacher training for intercultural bilingual education by María Sol Villagómez contributes to the discussion on the training of intercultural bilingual teachers in Ecuador and the Andean Region, based on the analysis of the trajectory and scope of a particular program: the Intercultural Bilingual Education Program at the Salesian Polytechnic University. It shows the complexity and challenges presented by the training of this type of teachers, and suggests ways of working on a daily basis in similar teacher training programs.
