Abstract
This article is set within the epistemological and ontological debate in psychology and its relationship with modern rationalism. An analytic schema that allows us to map the different psychological theories is proposed in order to demonstrate the dominion of idealistic position in the debate. The theoretical problem of subjective reductionism, individualism and the philosophical solipsism is being discussed, as well as its emphasis on the category of “time”. This modern program of theory production has laid on complex mechanisms of intellectual colonialism and dogmatism that do not acknowledge cultural production and territorial bases of theories. A critical perspective that retakes relational ontologies, including the category of “space” and dialectic materialism is proposed in order to locate the production on psychology from and for Latin America.
