Abstract

This article is part of the work of the Media Observatory of the Communication Career of the Salesian Polytechnic University - Quito; it aims to analyze the news coverage of current affairs, politics and security sections, to determine the media agenda of the print media El Comercio and El Universo, in the context of the government of Lenín Moreno; neoliberal government; and its relationship with the political caricature published in the same media. The conceptual construction is characterized by interrelating the categories of Media and Politics in terms of the construction of the Setting Agenda and the Political Caricature; for this purpose, it is expected to work from the methodological triangulation, which specifies the collection of information based on an analysis matrix that allows identifying the recurrent topics in the media and contrasting it with the graphic representation of the caricature.
