Abstract

This paper presents Carson's modeling of the sequence impedance calculation of a transmission line according to the tower geometry and implemented in a Matlab script. The model implementation has been validated with the results obtained from a transmission line presented in Anderson's book, Analysis of Faulted Power Systems, IEEE PRESS Power Systems Engineering Series and can be applied for different geometries. The effects of ground return due to guard wires and considering multiconductor per phase have been included in the model.
