Abstract
The main idea to have a smart home which helps to the people in everyday tasks is a reality. Currently there are some developed systems as well as others which are under investigation, such systems outfit to the home the ability to manage their resources such as save energy, reduce waste water, the control of temperature in a room, preserve food into the refrigerator and so on. Power consumption is one of the drawbacks of these systems, the question, How does it do?, if the same system together with the computer remain on all the time, that do not allows to save electricity. In order to achieve a low consumption of electricity a low cost, the most current research use the Raspberry Pi platform, this platform provide a small computer, less expensive and permit to save electricity better than a normal desktop computer. These kind of technologies along with the communication systems allow to control them from a smart device such as a smartphone with Android.
