This investigation describes the inelastic behavior of flat reinforced concrete gantries located in seismic zone 3 and 7. Eight (08) earthquake resistant gantries were designed for this purpose according to the COVENIN Standard using the CYPECAD 2017 software. Then the inelastic analysis was performed with SAP 2000 V14 software. The results obtained show that the calculated structures comply with all the resistant seismic parameters such as: period, participative mass, basal cut, inelastic drifts and knot check. On the other hand, the inelastic responses of the gantries showed satisfactory results because the mechanism of collapse of the structure evidences the formation of plastic spherical plain bearings in the beams and then in the columns. In addition, the ductility in all cases calculated as the relationship between the maximum capacity and the flow capacity of the structure turned out to be greater than 6. While the performance point turned out to be acceptable given that this point is located far from the ultimate capacity of the structure. This implies that evidently calculating porches according to COVENIN criteria guarantees a good inelastic behavior.
