Abstract
Experiencing associationism and youth leadership in an active, participatory and collaborative way in modern societies developed by ICTs with a view to a true post-pandemic social transformation is possible, considering that positive change benefits the most needy and vulnerable communities. The research presents a historical journey of associationism, its origin and a conceptual approach developed from its beginnings to the present. The Salesian University Associationism is exposed as part of the Preventive System implemented by San Juan Bosco, as a teaching-learning method, pedagogical procedures applied in several Salesian institutions of higher education worldwide. The research methodology has a qualitative approach of an analytical, descriptive and explanatory nature, which allowed for a hermeneutical literary review of previous studies on the subject. In addition, different experiences lived by university students were collected, who participated in associationism as part of an extracurricular educational process to put into practice humanitarian and accompaniment activities. The results achieved demonstrate the considerable increase in associated groups in recent years, thanks to the interest of university students in participating by integrating humanitarian collaborative associationism after COVID-19.
