Abstract

In Arts and Cultures: Pedagogies, Research, Management, and Heritage, a broad perspective is offered on the place of art in academia and community settings. Seventeen chapters present art education as a space for production, dialogue, and transformation. From perspectives that understand creation as a process where research, innovation, and entrepreneurship participate in the inherent risk of the artistic act, the work brings together topics ranging from interculturality to neuroeducation, from graffiti to traditional music and dance, as well as experiences in reading mediation and teacher training. This diversity allows us to observe how artistic practices are shaped in tension with sociopolitical dynamics and contemporary aesthetic pursuits, enabling new ways of understanding the creative process. The book concludes with an overview that highlights the importance of art in collective life and in building more open, sensitive, and inclusive educational institutions.
