Abstract
In a context of unequal access and historical concentration of water in the Ecuadorian Andes, it is of great importance to study the processes of collective action that have resisted privatization mechanisms, since they are evidence of a living social organization capable of confronting the state policies aligned with neoliberal capitalism and questioning the structures of inequality that have historically conditioned the social reproduction of life in rural areas. An example of this organizational vitality is the experience of the Potable Water and Sewerage Management Board Parroquia La Esperanza (JAAPE), which shows the decision to support community strategies.
