Abstract
The rapid technological advancement of the 21st century and the imminent global pandemic caused by the coronavirus have prompted the development of new teaching and learning strategies using ICTs, especially mobile learning due to its adaptability, accessibility, and application. However, in order to implement future online learning strategies, it is necessary to understand the technological and accessibility status of students in rural areas. The objective of this study was to investigate the physical, economic, and connectivity conditions available to students living in rural areas attending the National University of Education, Teacher Professionalization Program, NAPO campus. A non-experimental, descriptive study was conducted with a non-probability sample of 160 students, applying the survey technique. The results indicate that students, despite geographical limitations, have access to data connectivity, Wi-Fi networks, and mobile devices that allow them to access online learning and the possibility of participating in future educational innovations.
