Approach and deployment of distributed generation. State-of-art based on induction cooker system

Abstract

The always increasing human needs have led to the use of new electrical appliances for residential and industrial uses; these new loads have put pressure on the current power generation scheme. An alternative to alleviate this problem is the use of Distributed Generation. This model helps not only to the generation, but also may include storage. Distributed generation systems contribute to minimize losses in transmission systems, sub-transmission and distribution, and also offer the possibility of a combined heat production as well as electricity. Within this field, micro-grids are defined as systems smaller than 5 kW with can include connection to the main grid; moreover, its more versatile characteristic is the possibility of store electricity produced in any given period of time. This paper presents a state of the art analysis of the technologies that would allow using distributed micro-grids to feed coincident loads. An example of matching loads is a massive insertion of induction cookers. In concrete, an analysis of the nominal power, the demand factor and coincidence factor show that this insertion produces massive demands on the power supply you are outside the initial planning of the system, so that the use of micro networks can help solve this problem.
