Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a reality that has an impact at a social, communicational, and motor level. The objective of the present study was to explain the impact of supports and reasonable adjust-ments in the communication development of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Qualitative research was carried out at the "Chikitines" Child Development Center in the city of Guayaquil (Ecuador), with the participation of 7 nursery schools, 3 parents and 3 children with ASD. The TEACCH method was applied to the latter. A focus group, interviews with parents and an observation guide were carried out for children with ASD in October 2021 and February 2022. As a result, the children were able to acquire social skills, mo-tor improvements, a lower degree of irritability and greater ability to function properly. being able to interact with people in their environ-ment, manipulating objects with different textures.
