Aportes del Sistema Preventivo Salesiano a la Conformación de los Grupos Asu de la Ups. Una Experiencia desde Mac Sales

Based on the pillars of reason, religion, and loving-kindness, the Salesian Preventive System has become a fundamental reference in the field of education. Its relevance in the university context is notably evident through the creation of the Salesian University Association (ASU) group at the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS). These groups, by granting students a leading role, foster their integral development, encompassing both academic training and personal and social growth. This study aims to analyze and systematize the contributions of the Salesian Preventive System to the formation and outreach of the ASU groups at UPS, with a particular focus on the experience of the MAC SALES music band at the Guayaquil campus. Through a hermeneutic methodology, this reality is approached as a concrete expression of the Salesian spirit. It is concluded that the ASU MAC SALES group stands out as an inspiring example of how music can become a powerful instrument to convey the core values of the Salesian Preventive System to young people. Through a preventive approach, this initiative promotes the development of social skills and the internalization of essential values such as discipline, solidarity, and responsibility.
