Abstract
The text affirms, as a first theoretical approach, that the conception of the university as a social subsystem, its ideal, its principles, values and institutional norms constitute its organizational culture, mediated by the supports of its structure, attending to the system of interactions and exchanges of meanings and senses, produced and codified by the perceptions and interpretations of its members. To the task of promoting and consolidating the organizational culture of the university, contribute the components of the conception, the participatory and associative exercise, the results and impacts of the substantive function of Linkage with Society, whose praxis happens in an elliptical displacement that consolidates the internal structure of the university, as well as its interaction with the social reality of the environment. The organizational culture, while being the atmosphere of coexistence, is the spirit that characterizes and the testimony that distinguishes the conception and action of the university, within a historical context.
